The exact opposite of my other thread, what stupid things have YOU done in pokemon? Whether you lost the match or looked like an idiot, talk about them here! As expected, even I have my moronic happenings. I'll start things off, ofcourse.

So I'm on my first forum about 6 months ago, yeah? I noticed the pokemon battle thread, and go looking for a battle. So I challenge this one dude, and we end up fighting until the very end, we're down to our very last. My Weavile barely 2KO'd his semi last poke with Night Slash. Alright, so I have a chance - my Choice Banded Weavile is sure to knock the last one out if it's nuetral with weak defenses, right? So what does he send out?! A Dragonite! :D Dragonite was too bulky, and 2HKO'd Weavile. But guess what? When I checked my team at the end of the battle, I realised - MY WEAVILE DIDN'T HAVE A FREAKIN' CHOICE BAND!!!! DX I could of used Ice Shard and OHKO'd his Dragonite for the win. There goes my first competitive battle ever, down the drain. I forgot my own team at my own peril. ... Epic fail, yeah? But hey, I got revenge, so no problem here.

Now then, tell us your own "blonde moments", so to speak. I have another good one, but I'll hold onto it for now.

My most idiotic thing ever related to Pokemon was losing my Gold.

Let my friend borrow my best pokemon (Blastoise) over the summer.
He sold the game and forgot about Blastoise.

LOL Shadow, just lol. That's pretty damn stupid, no offense... But then again when we're that young, we do stupid things. Laughing

Speaking of RBY, I used to get my typings wrong. I thought Ice hit bug super effective (which has actually led to my loss a few times), and Psychic hit Ghost super effective (switching psychics on ghost types in GSC, lol big mistake). Ah, the naivity of being a kid... Good times, lol.

I said GSC, Shadow. :P Read more carefully. >.> ... I did howver make a mistake. Meant to say Ghost, not Dark. Everyone knew (even me) that Psychic doesn't hit Dark, lol.

Oh, oh. I remember a moment now.

When I first played Ruby, I was still a bit confused about the mechanics of Pokemon (I started at Gold). SO, I only trained my Swampert, while the rest of my team was full of random Pokes. Even worse, Swampert knew only HM moves. Surf, Waterfall, Dive, and Strength.

...I had a hard time beating the E4, but I still prevailed in the end.... with the help of Groudon. ;D

Groudon and Swampert have terrible synergy. XD

Ah yes, I've had plenty of idiot moments like that, back in the day. Cut, Fly, and Strength on my Charizard back in RBY; no move deleter. Does that suck? Very much so. ;D

I also think I never got the Master Ball in Gold. I didn't know about it, so I didn't bother to look for it.

Oh, nevermind. Prof. Elm gives it to you after you beat the E4.

...but I swear that I caught Ho-oh with an Ultra Ball...

Oh yeah, right... lol. Hard to miss then. Only if you're impatient/think he's going to give you another everstone would you not visit him. ... And let me tell you, I don't want another freakin' useless everstone.

Everstones are only good if you, for some odd reason, want to raise Baby Pokes. How do Everstones work, anyways?

Depends on what you mean by "work". As a held item, it prevents pokemon from evolving. This is good if you're training a pokemon to a high level to learn a certain move (like Shroomish learning spore at lv 46-ish), so you don't have to cancel evolution every freakin' time you level up.

That's relatively meaningless though, or atleast most of the time. The most important part is that if when breeding, your ditto/female pokemon holds an everstone, there is a 50% chance the offspring will enherit either of their parents' nature. Whether or not you know, each nature increases one stat by 10%, and decreases another stat by 10%. For example, if you're using a pokemon that only uses physical moves (dragonite), give it a nature that increases attack, but lowers special attack.

Also, just for the sake of mention, there are a few natures that don't increase or decrease any stats, nuetral natures basically. For competitive battling, they're completely useless, lol.

I don't mean that meaning. I meant, how does it hold back an evolution?

OH. Lol, my bad. That's a good question... ... ... Maybe it works in the exact opposite way of an evolution stone; rather than being a material than immediatly causes a reaction, resulting in evolution, it is made of a material that causes the pokemon to stall evolution, sort of like a growth stunting chemical in rl.

... Restarting? I thought something bad happened to your cartridge. >.>; Sucks either way, though.

... 12? Thanks to my fellow shiny hunters, especially Fox, I currently have... 111 shinnies? If I have any shiny pokes you once had, I'd be glad to give them to you for free.
